How to Play Solitaire
Klondike Solitaire starts with seven tableau columns, a deck pile, a discard pile, and four empty foundations. Your goal is to move every card to the foundations by suit, starting with Aces and ending with Kings.
Build tableau columns downward in alternating colors. For example, a black 9 can be placed on a red 10. Move face-up sequences between columns when the top card of the moving sequence fits the destination. Empty tableau columns can only receive a King or a sequence led by a King.
Klondike Solitaire Rules
Cards in the foundations must follow the same suit and ascend from Ace to King. Cards in the tableau must descend in rank and alternate red and black suits. Face-down tableau cards flip automatically when uncovered.
Click the deck to deal cards to the discard pile. When the deck is empty, click it again to recycle the discard pile back into the deck. Draw 1 deals one card at a time, while Draw 3 deals up to three cards at a time.
Draw 1 vs Draw 3
Draw 1 is more forgiving because every deck card becomes available in order. Draw 3 adds strategy because only the top card of each three-card discard deal can be moved. CardRoar supports both modes and saves your preference.
Scoring
Standard scoring rewards foundation moves, discard-to-tableau moves, and newly flipped tableau cards. Vegas-style scoring starts below zero and rewards foundation progress. Relaxed mode tracks time and moves without score pressure.
Tips for Winning
Reveal hidden tableau cards early, avoid filling empty columns unless you have a useful King, and think carefully before moving cards to the foundation in Draw 3. The Hint button looks for safe foundation moves first, then tries to uncover hidden tableau cards.
